Some Things Are Better Left Unlearned

Are you a lifelong learner?

I love to learn. I am drawn to intelligent people and people who notice things most of us go through life never even thinking about.

Recently, my husband and I had a conversation about Voyager 1 and 2. It is incredible to think Voyager 1 travels at about 38,000 mph and is almost a light day away from the earth. It has been sending information back to NASA since its launch in 1977.

My curious mind wanders whenever I see pictures or read descriptions of the solar system. My thoughts always land on the question, “How can such perfectly round planets be created by anything or anyone but God? Especially Earth where living, breathing humans, animals, plants, and organisms live and breathe?”

Which brings me to some things that are better left unlearned.

Scrolling today took me on this little journey of knowledge. Did you know the term microscope was introduced in 1624?

Bacteria, yeast, and blood cells were observed in 1664.

It was not until 1931 that the first microscope was invented using electrons instead of light for much higher magnification.

This was an important series of events for the microscope to be powerful enough to see face mites. Yes, I learned about face mites. We all have them. They like to hang out in hair follicles, especially close to the face and the eye lashes.

There are more details that I won’t share here, but suffice it to say I could have gone my whole life not knowing about these microscopic creatures that I also believe were created by God, even if only as a byproduct of our humanness. You know, following science laws and all.

*shivers*

Nice mild photos of these little microscopic creatures. Ewww.

What is something you could have lived your whole life not knowing?

I know! Right?!!! If you really want to be grossed out (is my age showing), search and read the details. Delete, delete, delete!

I think my face is suddenly itchy. It’s like being aware of your tongue, like Linus was 😝😂
